This past Saturday, Doncaster Golf Club had the pleasure of hosting a fantastic inter-club competition against Wheatley GC and Doncaster Town Moor GC —and what an incredible day it was!

The event brought together players from all three local clubs for a day of competitive spirit, camaraderie, and exceptional golf. With perfect conditions on our beautifully maintained course, each team showcased great skill and sportsmanship throughout. Live scoring added to the tension as the lead changed hands on numerous occasions in the final stages, it really did come down to the last putt which clinched it for Wheatley by 1 shot.

However the ladies teams played against Hickleton GC and Wheatley GC was a more convincing victory for DGC winning by 35 shots! What a team, well done the ladies team. 

From the first tee shot to the final putt, the atmosphere was buzzing with friendly rivalry and mutual respect. The turnout was excellent, and the support from members, guests, and club staff played a huge part in the event’s success.

Congratulations to all participants—and especially to those who claimed victories in their matches. Win or lose, it was a day that truly celebrated what local golf is all about: connection, competition, and community.

 A big thank you to Wheatley, Town Moor, and all who contributed to making the day such a success.
